1. Provide general and professional information through the participant registration process. If you have not yet created a profile or would like to review your profile information, click here. For information on applicability and acceptance of continuing education credit for this activity, please consult your professional licensing board.
2. Verify that your computer hardware and software meets the site requirements.
3. Read the target audience, learning objectives, and faculty disclosures for each lecture which may be found on the "green bar" of each lecture page.
4. Study the educational activity online (with optional streaming audio) or printed out.
5. Read, complete, and submit answers to the test questions and evaluation questions online. Participants must receive a test score of at least 70%, and respond to all evaluation questions to receive a certificate.
6. After submitting the activity evaluation, you may access your online certificate by selecting "View/Print Certificate" on the Profile Data screen. You may print the certificate, but you cannot alter the certificate. At any time, you may review the status of your course completion by viewing the Profile Data screen which is a link at the top of each page. You must first log in to access your profile.

Internet Connection

A 56Kbps modem or faster (LAN, Cable, DSL) is recommended. In general, the faster the Internet connection, the better the quality of streaming audio will be and the faster the slide images will download.

Monitor Resolution

Monitor resolution should be set to 800 x 600 pixels or higher for optimal viewing. The Web site can be viewed with a setting of 640 x 480 pixels but occasional horizontal scrolling may be required.

Sound Card and Speakers

To play the streaming audio/video which accompanies each activity, a sound card and PC speakers are required.

Web Browser

Masters of Pediatrics requires version 5.x browsers or higher from Microsoft, version 4.x browsers or higher from Netscape or version 6.x browsers or higher from AOL.

Certain Web browsers such as AOL deliver pop-up advertisements and other commercial ads. Please be aware that any ads you may view while visiting the Masters of Pediatrics Web site are as a result of your Web browser, not the Masters of Pediatrics Web site. This site delivers no commercial advertisements.

Javascript Enabled

Javascript must be enabled in your web browser. In the event that Javascript is disabled in Internet Explorer, click "Tools", then "Internet Options", then the "Advanced" tab. Scroll down and put a check mark before "JIT Compiler for Virtual Machine Enabled". Then restart your computer. To enable Javascript in Netscape, click "Edit", then "Preferences", then "Advanced." In the right-hand panel put a check mark before "Enable Java" and "Enable Java Script."

Cookies Enabled - Optional

Cookies must be enabled in your Web browser only if you want login information to be saved. In the event that cookies are disabled in Internet Explorer, click "Tools", then "Internet Options", then the Privacy tab. On the slider bar, change the setting to either "Medium," "Low," or "Accept All Cookies." To enable cookies in Netscape, click "Edit", then "Preferences", then "Advanced." In the right-hand panel check "Accept All Cookies."

Streaming Audio/Video

To access the audio/video files that accompany each activity, you will need Flash Player 7 or higher from Adobe. A free download of the most recent version is available from Adobe.

A few activities require Adobe Acrobat to view additional presentation handouts. These activities will be marked as such and will provide a link to the required software.
