  Evaluation and Management of Tip-Toe Walking in Children

Learning Objective
 

Upon completion of this activity, the general pediatrician should be able to sort out the differential diagnosis for the child who tip toes bilaterally by using the following four questions:

  1. When did the tip toe gait begin?
  2. Is there a family history of similar tip toeing?
  3. Is the neurological exam normal or abnormal?
  4. Is the Archilles tendon physically tight or simply overactive?
