Dr. Schachner is Professor of Pediatrics and Dermatology, and Director of the Division of
Pediatric Dermatology at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He is celebrating his
12th year as Director of the Annual Masters of Pediatrics Conferences. Dr. Schachner's
undergraduate degree is from Brooklyn College, his medical degree from the University of
Nebraska. He did his internship, residency and chief residency in both pediatrics and
dermatology at the Montefiore Hospital of Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York
City. Dr. Schachner is past Chair of the American Academy of Pediatric Section on Pediatric
Dermatology, and is a four-time recipient of the Best Teacher Award from the residents in
pediatrics and dermatology at the University of Miami School of Medicine. In 2001, he was
selected by the Dean for the Senior Clinical Research Scientist award. He is
author of more than 200 scientific articles, chapters, books, abstracts and posters, co-author
of Schachner and Hansen's Textbook of Pediatric Dermatology, which is now in its third
edition.
